Known as one of Victoria’s BEST BEACHES, the Betka has been fabulous this year, and continues to be a safe and sheltered sunny area with great barbq and picnic facilities.Sunny, warm and sheltered in almost any weather, ideal for young families to have beach time in all seasons.

Winter and spring at Mallacoota mean  sunshine and calm weather, ideal for sitting at Betka reading, supervising children, exploring…….

This is Mallacoota’s safest beach for children and young families, with large sandy areas and shallow pools that are quite sheltered, grass areas, shade, and toilets. Tables and bar b ques on a grassy area overlooking the sand and water.

Surf fishing from near here is easy and usually successful. Come and experience an exciting mornings fishing and barbq breakfast.

At the times rocks are exposed at low tide, showing dozens of rock pools and marine life.

This beach is just one of many here, and very  accessible, with good car parking.

The picnic beach  area has been pristine, clear, with white sand banks and shallow water , and the river (shallow) runs out to the surf at a rate that provides play opportunities for children on body boards.

Around the corner is a fabulous small and safe surf beach, with sandbanks into small waves.

From Betka the walking track follows the beaches all the way to Secret Beach, with several lookouts along the way. Whales, dolphins, yachts, cruise ships, abalone boats are all easily spotted and observed from these.

There is a further  track from Secret beach all the way to Shipwreck creek beach which goes through national park bushland.

The lake is calm and ideal for a day of kayaking or boating; catch some fish and stop at one of our picnic spots (bar b q”s and toilets, jetties for boats) for a fabulous outing.
